Halloween Report 2019


TOTAL: 154 trick or treaters. First caller at 5:57 pm. Last at 8:35 pm.

Up from Halloween 2018, a steady climb over the last four years.

Best costume: A homemade bird costume with beautiful paper mask with individual feathers down her arms.
Second: A World War Two soldier, with a real antique 1940 helmet.
Third: A very cute little lady bug.
Honourable mention: A little girl with in a charming pink flamingo costume.

Most popular costumes
1) Clowns - Various types from classic to zombie, Probably influenced by the new Joker film.
2) Unicorns - Not sure why this costume suddenly became so popular.
3) Skeletons - Various versions, popular with children and parents, including a great homemade one using duct tape.
4) Zombies - plenty of zombies in various forms.

Other trends noted: 
  • Lots of Frozen characters. 
  • Lots of sharks - influence of song "Baby Shark"
  • Plenty of Ninjas. 
  • Good number of pirates, good to see this nautical classic.
  •  Return to classic civic characters: firefighters (3) and police officers (2) 
  • Fewer super heroes. Spiderman the most popular. The Hulk, second most popular.
